Attapulgite-Based Light-Colored Antistatic Material Wins Second Prize of the National Invention & Entrepreneurship Award

Recently, the project “Preparation and Industrial Application of Attapulgite-Based Light-Colored Antistatic Functional Materials”, jointly completed by Zhejiang Coloray Technology Development Co., Ltd., Changzhou University, and other partners, was awarded the Second Prize of the Achievement Award of the Invention & Entrepreneurship Awards by the China Invention Association (Certificate No. 0123). This national-level honor, established to encourage scientific and technological innovation and the transformation of research achievements, marks an important breakthrough in China’s development of light-colored conductive functional materials.

Using attapulgite as the core raw material, the project successfully developed high-performance light-colored antistatic composite materials through structural regulation and surface modification technologies. These materials have achieved industrial application in coatings, automotive primers, fibers, and other fields. The new materials not only solve long-standing problems associated with traditional carbon-based and metal-based conductive materials—such as dark color, susceptibility to oxidation, and high cost—but also achieve simultaneous optimization in conductivity, whiteness, and mechanical properties, demonstrating significant technological advancement and strong market competitiveness.
