The photovoltaic project at the Coloray Technology Development Co., Ltd. industrial campus has officially been put into operation. This milestone achievement marks a major step forward in Coloray’s efforts to implement China’s “dual-carbon” strategy and build a green manufacturing system, setting an innovative benchmark for low-carbon industrial transformation in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Against the backdrop of global climate change, the Paris Agreement—as the core international framework for addressing climate challenges—has driven countries to reduce energy consumption through energy transformation, efficiency improvement, legislation, and more. As nations place increasing emphasis on climate action and environmental protection, green energy has become a global priority. The Chinese government attaches great importance to carbon reduction initiatives. A photovoltaic (PV) project refers to a complete engineering system that converts solar radiation into electricity using solar panels through the photovoltaic effect. As a clean and renewable energy source, PV energy has gained widespread adoption and promotion worldwide in recent years.
Coloray actively responds to national policy guidance, embedding the concept of green development into the company’s core values. The newly completed PV project makes full use of rooftop space across the facility, with a total investment of approximately 3 million RMB and a planned installed capacity of 1,663.47 kWp. It is expected to generate more than 1.7 million kWh of electricity annually, meeting around 60% of the factory’s power needs. This corresponds to an annual carbon reduction of 1,015.4 tons, savings of 532.7 tons of standard coal, and reductions of 4.75 tons of sulfur dioxide, 2.83 tons of nitrogen oxides, and 0.66 tons of particulate emissions.
Beyond its significant ecological benefits, the project also opens new avenues for economic value. It marks a crucial step in Coloray’s transformation from a “high-energy-consumption” model to a “high-efficiency, sustainable” model. By boosting the share of clean energy usage, the PV project greatly reduces the company’s reliance on traditional power grids, directly lowering energy operating costs and optimizing long-term energy structure.
The successful completion of Coloray’s photovoltaic project is like a green puzzle piece embedded into the grand blueprint of China’s industrial green development. Looking ahead, Coloray will continue to uphold the philosophy of green development, exploring and adopting more low-carbon and environmentally friendly production practices. The company is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of the industry and leading a new wave of green transformation across the industrial sector.
